IT Systems
As a student, you will encounter a range of IT-systems during your studies. "IT-systems" refers to both software installed on your computer and web-based applications.
EK handles the IT-security for our own IT-systems. We ensure that your personal data is handled correctly in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This includes Office 365, your EK email, the learning platforms Moodle and ITslearning, and Wiseflow (the exam submission system). You can read more about EK's personal data policy here.
During your education, you will likely also use other systems where EK does not guarantee IT-security. This applies, for example, to Google's systems and various other services typically available on the internet (including ChatGPT). For these systems, it is important that you remain aware of what data and information you share and that you comply with the systems' guidelines/terms of use. Accessing these services usually requires you to create a user profile, and each service provides descriptions of how they handle the information you share with them.
It is up to you whether you wish to use IT-systems where EK does not provide IT security and GDPR compliance; you are personally responsible for the use of these systems. Below, you can find recommendations on how to handle personal data, sensitive data, and copyrights when using such systems. You should keep these recommendations in mind whenever you use non-EK systems. We advise you to only enter your own personal data (such as name and email) and never enter personal data belonging to others.
